Evertrue Chronicle: Demo Edition
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
A determined mercenary wanders the realm, looking for the princess he had sworn to protect: a child of House Evertrue, the royal house that fell into decline seven years ago. After years of fruitless searching, his journey leads him to Memoria, a small village on the edge of the kingdom. Memoria is home to the Cave of Visions, a dangerous place where Seekers battle demons from their past in a desperate bid to recover parts of themselves that they've lost. With nowhere left to turn, the mercenary becomes a Seeker and asks around town for any news of the missing princess. Except nobody can remember the princess, or even believes she existed at all...
Evertrue Chronicle: Demo Edition is a short game about finding yourself, and hints at the themes that will be present in the final release. This demo edition covers most of the first "act" of the game, and is a great way to get a feel for how the game plays while anchoring yourself in game's story. It was built with RPG Maker MV using stock assets, a bunch of custom scripting, and a lot of love. While your time with these characters may be brief (2-4 hours), I hope there's enough of them here to interest you in the complete game When It's Done™.
New Demo Features:
- More game! Play through the second area of each character's journey into the Cave, and see the entirety of their recovered memories.
- Expanded story! The history of the realm comes up a lot more in conversation, and as it turns out, the characters have a bit of history with each other too.
- More demons! All of the characters and enemies have been rebalanced, offering a more engaging experience. The new demons you'll meet are more powerful too, meaning you'll need to get used to...
- Better Skills! For the most part these haven't changed, but all of them are now working as intended. Each character has a unique skillset, giving them all a distinct feel.
- More to do in town! The healer can expand your stock of healing items, while the witch can turn loot into extra skill points. Try visiting the grocer; she has side quests for you now!
- Is that the Princess we keep seeing?
As always, I want to hear about bugs you find, things that really worked for you or really didn't, and how the game made you feel. Feel free to leave a comment here or email me at feedback@daphnestar.com. I'd love to hear what you think! Thanks in advance for playing.
